Got it, I dual boot off of one SSD. I'm gonna set up a 128GB thumb drive


to boot Mint (maybe Ubuntu). I've done it with a small USB on slower USB and it was OK. Better than running off of bootable DVD, though that was pretty cool too. The DVD Mint (14.X I think) would make a little swap drive on the HD and delete it on exit/shutdown. Still kinda slow (running the OS off the DVD) but it did allow you to get into computer with a bad Windows boot sector, and you could get to all of the data files on the bad drive. I've recovered a lot of data for a lot of people with a bootable linux DVD or USB when Windows boot sectors died.
